n the ælven calendar, seasons are
centered around the solstices and equinoxes, hence Midsummer, the summer solstice, is actually in the middle of summer. 

The ælven celebrate Midsummer, Midwinter, and Spring and Autumn Evennights (equinoxes) with feasts.  They also celebrate a Feast of Coming Spirits between spring and summer, and a Feast of Crossed Spirits between autumn and winter.
